Five Duke angels participated in the Duke Angel Network’s investment, and it’s matched in some part by funding from the Duke Innovation Fund. Mati is the seventh reported investment by the year-old network that funds Duke-affiliated companies.

Spiffy provides car washes and detailing in the Triangle and Charlotte out of more than 25 vans that customers can schedule to come to them through an app on their smartphones. Spiffy launched its service in the Triangle in November 2014 and expanded to Charlotte the following June. Revenue this year is on track to more than double 2015’s revenue. Spiff had its eye on Atlanta as fertile territory for its mobile service and is now expanding its service to Atlanta. (Source: News & Observer)
